Since 2008, The Commander-In-Chief (The CIC) has recorded and sold her own music as an independent artist in the Heavy Metal genre. Her debut EP "Evolution" (2012) received rave reviews and she has been featured extensively in major music magazines. Leading Metal Magazine, Metal Hammer UK said this about her: "Bow down mortals. Meet the new Queen of Shred!" They also featured her as "One of ten modern Guitar Gods."

Europe´s leading guitar magazine, Total Guitar Magazine, said this about her: "It's a sad fact that when you think of shred guitarists, the majority of them will be men. Enter The Commander-In-Chief, a seven-string-wielding uber-shredding female who's ready to melt faces and shatter stereotypes! Make way for the Norwegian Queen of Shred!"

She was nominated for Best Metal Song by Hollywood Music in Media Awards in 2011 and 2012.

She has been a guest on major TV Talk Shows and she has performed at major festivals in Europe.

In 2013 she crossed over to Classical music and she was the first guitarist to record a guitar version of the very demanding violin virtuoso piece, Zigeunerweisen Op. 20, in cooperation with classical guitarist Thomas Valeur. Inspired by the success with Zigeunerweisen Op.20, The CIC contacted no.1 classical guitarist Craig Ogden, and they started to prepare for the recording of an album together. The album was recorded at Velvet Recording studio in Norway in July 2014.

Their album, 2 Guitars - The Classical Crossover Album, was released on December 10th 2014 on iTunes, Amazon, CDBaby and Pledgemusic.
